We started out the day with snorkeling in Turtle Bay, which is a protected cove just a couple of minutes from our condo. Although it’s on the north shore, the waves are very calm even in the winter. Outside the breakwater we could see bigger waves crashing.
Liam enjoyed snorkeling but Willow just wanted to make fiends with everyone on the beach. River took a nap in mom’s and then dad’s lap.
It was more developed than the other beaches we have been to, with a big hotel, clean bathrooms, and a snack bar. I can see why they would build a fancy resort there – it’s gorgeous.
After lunch at the condo, we stopped for gelato and a little souvenir shopping.
Then we went to visit one of Bill’s oldest friends, Nikki, and her husband and son. They live right by the beach in sunset beach and they have the most beautiful back yard I have ever seen: the beach!
River had a great time boogie boarding on their beach, and even willow spent a lot of time in the water.

The kids played and played, and the adults chatted and watched the sun set over the water.
They made us a wonderful dinner and we had a great time talking and hanging out. Willow even learned to blow the conch shell!
Sometimes you meet someone, and you feel like you have known them forever. That’s how our whole family felt. By the end of the evening, it felt like we were saying goodbye to family. They made us feel so welcome.
