Antigua

Today we went to the island of Antigua. We hired a driver named Cynthia to take us around and give us a tour.

First we went to the donkey sanctuary. They rescue donkeys on the island, as well as cats and dogs. Caroline showed us around and told us about the animals and how they came to the sanctuary. They have 125 donkeys!

We all loved brushing the gentle animals. They were very friendly.

We also got to play with kitties, which was sweet and reminded us of our cats at home.

We can’t go to the humane society and leave without animals, so grandma adopted a blind donkey named Stevie and Liam adopted one named Ushi.

Antigua has 366 beaches, one for every day of the (leap) year. So, after lunch, we went to Dickenson’s beach. It had white sands, turquoise water and not too many people. The kids liked how gentle the tiny waves were.

Liam learned to skip rocks, while River just threw them into the water.

After dinner, the kids went to play in the cruise ship’s kids’ program while we went to see the Las Vegas Tenors. They loved the superheroes program but came back with a lot of face paint They were in full superhero mode. We let Liam stay a little later.
